Standalone Power System in Wangary, South Australia.

Wangary is a small rural town on South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula, about 45 kilometres west of Port Lincoln. Home to just over 200 residents, its main landmarks are the freshwater lake and the Old Lake Wangary Hotel, built in 1871 and now serving as a general store. Rural properties in this area depend on a standalone power system, making tailored installations essential for new builds.

First Step for a Remote Property Build

These property owners recently built a new shed, with plans to build a house on the block in the future. To ensure reliable power supply from the start, they needed a dependable standalone power system. Connecting to the grid would have been costly, so this was a practical choice.

MyEnergy designed the standalone power system directly from the shed plans, setting it up to deliver immediate power for the property while being ready to support the home once it is built.

This project was designed remotely and built onsite by our in-house team of electricians, with the standalone power system assembled on a dedicated power wall inside the shed.

The installation includes a Victron MultiPlus-II inverter, Victron SmartSolar charge controller and a Victron Cerbo GX with Touch 70 display.

A 10.56kW array of JA Solar Panels were mounted on the roof of the shed using a Schletter mounting system. Backed by 20.4kWh of ZYC SIMPO batteries, the property now has a reliable energy supply that can expand as future needs grow.
