Powering a New House Off the Grid
With their new home in Port Gibbon recently completed, this property owner needed a reliable power solution to meet immediate household needs and ensure long-term reliability. Due to their location, connecting this property to the grid would have been expensive, making an off-grid power system the most practical choice. The solution needed to be well-planned, tailored to the property’s specific conditions with space to grow and ideally ready to go from day one with a smooth, straightforward installation.
Off Grid Power System Ready for Holiday Living
MyEnergy designed and built the off-grid power system at MyEnergy HQ in Adelaide, to ensure a smooth, efficient installation on-site. Housed in a durable, vermin and weather-proof steel cabinet with room to expand, the system was delivered to the property and installed beside the shed. A 14.96kW solar array, made up of JA Solar panels, was mounted across the roof of the home using a Schletter Roof Mount System.
This off-grid power setup features a 10kVA Victron MultiPlus-II inverter, Victron SmartSolar Charge Controller, Victron Ekrano GX for monitoring and a 5kW SMA Sunny Boy inverter. The system includes 30.72kWh of ZYC SIMPO battery storage supporting reliable day-to-day use.
